You can understand sentences and common expressions about everyday matters such as family, shopping, work and your surroundings. You can communicate in simple, routine tasks and describe your background and immediate needs in simple terms.

How you get to this level

Through the placement test: if the tester places you at A2, you start here.

By completing A1 · Beginner: once that level is confirmed as completed, you become eligible for A2 groups. About level A1
Moving up is never automatic. You choose and enrol in your next group yourself.
After this level
When the roadmap of A2 is complete and the final assessment is done, administration confirms the level. You are then eligible for B1 · Intermediate groups. About level B1
